Empower My People!

While praying for strategy for discipleship in Africa, I felt the Spirit urging African leaders with these words,

“Kill the ‘man of God syndrome’.

Why do you limit the level of maturity of My people to keep them dependent on you?

Make every man a ‘man of God’ and make every woman a ‘woman of God’.

They don’t need the man of God; they need the Son of God.

As My Son gave His glory to those He discipled (John 17), give the secrets of your success to those following you to empower them to outgrow you.”

I had such a sense this will require a form of death to personal position and titles. It’s vital to make people dependent on God and not on leaders. In the name of ‘submission’, control has sterilised many believers’ potential. I felt the grief of God over this.

I was aware of voids in God’s army on an international level. A large portion of His army remain uninvested into and overlooked, especially the poor and those lacking social stature. He longs for them to be invested into, and for them to take their place in the Kingdom.

The Spirit is calling us to align to His word. He’s shifting the scales to qualify ALL His sons and daughters to bring the Kingdom.

I was also aware that some leaders have felt a desire to empower others but fear the uprise of coups or displacement. To you and all whose hearts are in the right place, God has a promise of customized strategy.

Leaders, allow Holy Spirit to search your hearts.

What more can you do to mature and empower those you lead?

Who are the seemingly insignificant people (like David, the youngest), that you’ve overlooked, but God has chosen for future leadership?

Spend time listening for His strategy for your situation.

John 12:24-26-“Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life. Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.”(NIV)
