I Am Against Your Podium Christianity

Isaiah 44:17 (NIV)-…he makes a god, his idol. He bows down to it and worships. He prays to it and says, ‘Save me, you are my god.’

God desires to build a nameless, faceless army to fulfill His Great Commission and bring His Kingdom on earth. Yet we’re drawn to those on platforms and podiums, to well-known names, high performing threads and YouTube channels. Has all this still built His Kingdom? Yes. But His people have become spectators, and those in the spotlight are struggling.

The Lord says, “I’m against your podium Christianity. My people, you’ve taken a good thing and made it an idol. You’re feeding each other on food I’ve not given you.”

People say to those in the spotlight, “Feed us more! We don’t want to feed ourselves.” Those in the spotlight say, “Need me more! I receive my value from your adoration.”

God says to those on the podiums, “Come down! Maintaining your reputation is exhausting you. You’ve forgotten that only My reputation matters. Come out of the spotlight, let Me heal your wounds and deliver you from your sins. Stop straining for more than the portion of people I’ve given you; love who’s in front of you. Stop allowing the people to elevate you, instead follow My Spirit. I’ll be more glorified when you allow it all to crash around you, than by your fight to stay on the podium.”

God says to those spectating, “Rise up! Stop looking to others to lead you in place of Me. You don’t really know these people standing on global stages. Yes, be open to receive from others but you are also called to give! Take your place in My army. Discover the gifts I’ve placed inside you. You don’t need to be like the ones you’ve looked up to; be who I’ve created you to be. Embrace My call on your life with great enthusiasm and joy.”

Take a moment to respond:

-Repent of idolatry and exaltation of people

-Fix your eyes on Jesus
